George started making guitars and ukuleles in 2004. The instruments are an expression of a life-long interest in working with wood, and a love of music played on the guitar.
George enjoys the challenge and opportunity to build a new guitar every few months. Along with each new instrument come questions: How will it sound? What impact will the changes have? How will its voice change as it gradually awakens?
And while the answers are intrinsically rewarding, the most important piece is how the client feels about their new instrument.
George has had the benefit of getting to observe and learn from several expert luthiers, including classical builders Dake Traphagen and Steve Ganz, each of whom have more than 30 years experience.
He also works closely with the Guitar Performance & Study program at Western Washington University, and with professional musicians from around the region, including Flip Breskin and Richard Scholtz.
